FADED is a dance film based on a dance theatre piece with an idea that focuses on identity, an issue that has risen through colorism among African women along with the youth and their perception/idea of beauty as a lighter skin complexion which has led to the skin bleaching epidemic. It has fed into psychosocial factors that have moulded this mentality and the possible ill effects it has on a person, both psychologically as well as physically. This dance-theatre piece questions ‘’what defines beauty? Is it through skin shade and tone or their personality and character in the community?’

The man, who is christian, struggles to understand what his daughter is saying, thinking she is too young to understand his pain. faith has taught him.This daughter-daddy story explores questions of the afterlife, and both Christianity and African tradition offer no easy answers to the strongly bonded pair.
